Are police officers always justified?

Do you think police officers used additional force when it comes to teenagers? Do they use equal or less force when it comes to children with disabilities? Why or why not?

  1. I think the police go over board in most of the situations. Special needs teenagers over react to situations where a highers authority and verbal commands are included. Dealing with teenager with special needs, involves a lot of patient and psychological techniques, which most of the times our police officers are not train on

  2. Every situation police officers respond to is a unique case.there are textbook ways for officers to handle certain situations.Good judgement calls and decision making depending on circumstance is how a officer knows when its time to use force regardless of the suspect age/religion/sex/disabilities.An officer job is that much easier if no force is used.

  4. I think that cops should kick kids asses if they need to! The system, society, that we live in now, gives students to much power! If teachers and police were able to "beat" the students, maybe some will learn that respect comes first! In the old days, if you got beat by your teacher, or someone in your neighborhood (adults), you would go home and get beat again! Children have to much power! I think that police personal should do whatever it takes to control a situation! I am all for getting rid of full rights for children! IF I CAN PUT YOU IN THIS WORLD... I CAN TAKE YOU OUT!

  5. I feel cops take advantage of the teens. They throw them and slam them so hard that some times they get hurt. Knowing most teens does not know their rights they dont tell them. Me as a teen was slamed on the floor and handcuffed just to be searched when I was walking down the street and when I asked why they told me I fit a discribtion of a guy who robbed a store. Another time the cops raided my friends apparment and me at 11 years old I had more than 5 shotguns to my head and me on the floor handcuffed.

  6. I think police officers sometimes abuse the power they have. What they believe to be additional force might not be the same as what we believe. I think that with teenagers with disabilities they should treat them with a little more care and be more patient. I believe that police officers might treat them as normal teenagers not knowing about their disabilities.

  7. We gave the system a chance to work as it’s supposed to work. They had the chance to present the truth. They also had the chance to present the facts at the coroner’s inquest hearing.

  8. I believe police officers use excessive force when it comes to dealing with teenagers. The reason is that some teens dont quite respect authority and police officers are not equipped or informed on how to deal with teens. So if they dont know how to deal with teens I cant imagine how they deal with teens that has special needs and acted out.
